1 dead in botulism outbreak linked to Ohio church potluck

first of all, I don’t wish death or sickness on anyone. that being said, it was a church potluck. why didn’t blessing the food have any effect? its almost as if it didn’t work at all. Or let me guess…it doesn’t work that way…
